Sip and Sing Supper Club hosted by the Riverside Center is the 2019 Theatre of the year 2019 for central Virginia. We were entertained by likes of Frank Sinatra and opera to jazz. The theatre is doing a stellar job of managing the requirements for social distancing while offering a top shelf performance. The theatre has been in operation since 1998. The location offer 36,000 square feet for entertainment. Every week we offer both evening and matinee main-stage performances. The food and experience is worth every penny. I did not want to turn on the flash while the performers were on stage so they are not the best quality.
I am coming back to see a theatre performance once the restrictions are lifted. The upcoming performance is Souvenir: A Fantasia on the Life of Florence Foster Jenkins. The site describes Souvenir, by turn hilarious and poignant, tells her story through the eyes of her accompanist, Cosmé McMoon. With each new imagined triumph Florence’s confidence soars. Faced with her boundless certainty, Cosmé comes to revise his attitude, not only towards her singing but to the very meaning of music itself.
