I hosted a wine party featuring some of my Oma’s favorite recipes. Our original founder of the group Miko was surprised with our club shirts “Miko started it.” She is the reason this lovely group of ladies are connected. The evening started with a welcome reception toast of caviar and Prosecco. We then had kosher wines paired with a 5 course meal. The party was an undertaking and worth every minute of effort.

Alfasi Chardonnay 2017 chilled
Alfasi wines are produced using the finest grapes grown in the Maule Valley just south of Santiago, Chile’s capital city. Alfasi wines benefit from the rare union of a sunny climate with cool ocean breezes. The surrounding mountain ranges provide a cool, moisture-free climate that contributes to the top-quality that Alfasi wines exhibit. Alfasi Chardonnay is a dry, crisp wine that displays pleasant apple and pear flavors. This wine is best served with lightly flavored chicken and fish dishes or as an aperitif. Serve chilled.
Chateau Josephine Merlot 2020 polar reviews love or hate it
This wine is made from grapes harvested in Yecla, Spain. The unique combination of excellent weather and soil characteristics of this area allows grapes to achieve ideal ripening conditions. Moderately bold, average smoothness, slightly soft.
Sforno Sauvignon Blanc 2021 chilled
Distinctly Argentinian, Sforno wines are produced by winemakers with generations of winemaking history from vineyards in the renowned Uco Valley at the foot of the Andes Mountains. The Sforno Sauvignon Blanc boasts intense and fresh aromas, with noticeable rue and citrus flowers. On the palate, it offers a refreshing and mineral flavor, with good acidity and persistence in the mouth.
Festa D’Estate Pinot Grigio 2021 Chilled
Festa d’Estate Pinot Grigio is a dry white wine that takes the balance beam, with citrus notes on one side, and a crisp edge on the other. On the palate, light bodied, medium acid, refreshing lemon-lime, and medium finish.
Chateau Josephine Garnacha 2020 chilled
80% of Yecla is planted with Monastrell maa·nuh·strel with small quantities of other international varietal of reds and whites. Findings from archaeological excavations in the area have confirmed that grape growing and wine production has been practiced in this area for over 2000 years and was probably likely introduced by the ancient Romans. The flavor profile of Garnacha likened to the taste of a fruit roll-up. This wine will also have a medium level of acidity and lack harsh tannins. The high sugar levels of this wine make it suited for fortified wine production ie adding distilled spirits to wine during or after fermentation. When given just a bit of chill the white pepper characteristics tend to come forward.
Baron Herzog White Zinfandel 2021 chilled
A well balanced wine with a low level of alcohol. You may taste cotton candy and strawberry. This wine is rather aromatic you may smell cherry, vanilla (oak), and apple. Palate: medium-sweetness and acidity. Light in the mouth with clean, fresh fruit flavors and refreshing finish. A remarkably versatile wine.
