Stonewall Jackson’s (Thomas Jonathan Jackson) Death Site is off the beaten path in Woodford a short drive off i95. This is where General Jackson spent his final six days before succumbing to his injuries. The 740 acre plantation belonged to Thomas C. Chandler. Today the buildings have been established as a historic “shrine.” Fun fact the plantation retains 45% of its original fabric. The grounds offers a pleasant walk in the park. The staff is beyond knowledgeable so come curious.
