When family is too far to share a meal with you have Friendsgiving. I have no idea what odd face I am making. I must have eaten too much turkey and potatoes. We had a blast with the Thompsons doing all the things. We are truly blessed to a tribe that has become family. I am a huge fan of smoking a turkey. I envision having smoked turkey for years to come. The Thompson’s had all the sides and fixings to feed all of section 2. Rachel and Keith are amazing cooks and pulled out all the stops for this lovely meal.
Some ideas for Friendsgiving activities
- Put together a puzzle
- Have everyone write down items they are thankful for and read them during the meal
- Play board games not monopoly I am not a fan
- Create the ultimate dessert bar
- Play a game outside, pickle ball, bags or flag football
- Create a scavenger hunt
- Movie marathon
- Watch the cowboys lose
- Play a friendly game of croquet
- Participate in a turkey trot
- Create a wreath or make wool pumpkins
- Candy corn bowling made from orange cones and a rubber ball
We did the habour turkey trot. Yes we are both equally excited about the antlers. They are the cutest. It was a brisk lovely morning perfect for working off those pre meal calories. This is my “Seriously why are we running face.”
