Arlington VA

Nestled on the banks of the Potomac River, Arlington, Virginia, is a city with a history as rich as its modern-day culinary tapestry. From Civil War landmarks to vibrant neighborhoods, Arlington seamlessly blends the past and the present, offering residents and visitors a unique and diverse experience.  This city has deep roots in our history. Founded in 1801 as Alexandria County, Arlington has witnessed significant moments in American history. During the Civil War, it became a critical location with the construction of Arlington National Cemetery on the grounds of the former home of General Robert E. Lee. Today, the city is home to various historical sites, including the Arlington House and the Marine Corps War Memorial, each echoing the footsteps of the nation’s past.  In addition to its rich historic value this city is home to many culinary journeys.  I decided to park and walk around the city to see what I could find.

Arlington’s culinary scene is a mosaic of flavors, reflecting the city’s cosmopolitan nature. Local chefs and restaurateurs curate menus that celebrate global influences, offering a gastronomic journey within the city limits. Who knew just a short drive from the harbour are award-winning restaurants like The Liberty Tavern and Green Pig Bistro.  Both are famous for infused creativity into their menus.  My focus though today was HH. Never have 2 letters brought me so much joy.

The city is a hub for happy hour harmony. Their happy hour game it strong from rooftop bars with panoramic views to cozy speakeasies, the city’s establishments offer an array of options for those seeking post-work relaxation or pre-dinner libations.   Below are 2 of my favorite picks Lyon’s Hall 3100 Washington Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201 and Grumpy Bistro 1025 N Fillmore St STE D, Arlington, VA 22201

I decided to get my steps in and walk around the city sampling snacks and libations.  Look at all these happy hour opportunities.  So many choices only 1 liver. We better get started.  Who’s with me.
