Union Market

I got to spend the day with one of my favorite people in the whole world.  We are part of the coven Midwest transplants.  We enjoyed walking about and visiting all the market has to offer.  The area hosts international markets and a variety of niche local artist shops.

We went to taste test the bloody mary listed as one of the best drinks in DC.  This treat lives up to the reviews.  It is a complete breakfast.  I had the lux’d and loaded at Buffalo and Bergen (1309 Fifth St., NE.)

We ended the afternoon with a rum tasting at Cotton and Reed (1330 5th St NE, Washington, DC 20002)   They have a couple of flight options to choose from.  My favorite was the rum-based rhubarb.  There is an earthy spice along with a kick to this delicious mix.  Rumbarbaro is aged barrel aged for 18 months.
The location is a visual treat. FYI we had to present our vaccination cards.  I would come back and try another flight and maybe bring home a little something for the bar.
