The mother of our first President Mary Ball Washington was born 30th of November in 1708 in Lively, Lancaster County, Va and died 26th of August in 1789. Her nickame was The Belle of Epping Forest. She married Augustine Washington in 1731 and gave birth to George in 1732.

Her resting place is on the grounds of the home (Kenmore) that belonged to her daughter and son-in-law Fielding and Betty (Elizabeth) Lewis. Her house which is also a museum is located 1200 Charles St, Fredericksburg, VA 22401. The tour is a delight and rich with history.
